A Story Worth Repeating

Today, there is much debate about the school systems and parents are left wondering, ‘what is the best option for their kids?’ We are given many choices: public schools, private schools, charter schools,on-line schools and homeschooling. It is important to explore these options, but our question is: are people pulling kids from their current schools for something “better” as a reflex without first doing everything possible to help make their current school the best it can be?

We can make a difference not only in our children’s education but in the way we teach them that a community is worth building and nurturing. We can show them that passion, drive, and hard work pays off. We can lead by example, preparing them for the world beyond the walls of their school.

The Parent Teacher Organization Mentor (PTOM) Training Program is designed to give you proven tools, techniques, and templates that can help make a positive difference in your child’s educational experience. Show them their school community can be strong, is worth fighting for, and can be your biggest asset.

We often come across things that inspire us, and most recently it was the book “Start Something That Matters” by Blake Mycoskie, founder and Chief Shoe Giver of TOM’s Shoes www.startsomethingthatmatters.com. It is worth mentioning, because his trend toward giving back is what has made America so great in the past and is what moves us to do the same. We now own our first pair of TOM’s shoes and are so happy to make a difference to other kids in the world because of this wonderful company’s efforts.

With this business model in mind, as we move forward Organization in-a-box will establish a percentage of profits to go towards school staff grants to help get schools the resources they need to perform at the levels necessary for our future leaders to succeed.

Take time and make it a priority to create your own success within your school. If only 10% of parents followed in your footsteps, think of the positive changes that could be made in schools on a national basis and the overall benefits to our country’s children.

Adult actions directly impact student achievement. Now is the time to rally around our kids, schools and communities in an effort to help them all be the best they can be. "United we stand, divided we fall" Aesop
